A year after floods affected large areas of Geelong, council wants central residents of the city to share their experiences of the event.
People are being asked to send council their flood stories, photos, videos, newspaper cuttings, to assist with development of stormwater management strategy.
The assessment area focuses on Geelong’s CBD, west and east, Newtown and Mainfold Heights.
A Have Your Say page is now live on City of Greater Geelong website to help gather people’s experiences of flood, so the city can better manage the risk of future events, impacts on the health of local waterways and alternate water supply options for the region.
Community engagement and consultation will be a three stage process, with the next phase to provide mitigation options to the community for a vote and feedback.
Stage three will see the the assessment report presented online.
