Thirteen people have been arrested in relation to the death of a Wyndham Vale man.
Lino Atem was fatally stabbed during a fight in a park in Wyndham Vale on the night of January 10.
The 24-year-old passed away at the scene, while his two friends were both taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police executed 15 warrants early Tuesday morning in areas including Werribee, Manor Lakes, Hoppers Crossing, Sunshine West and Mornington.
The thirteen males, aged between 15 and 22, will be interviewed by police.
A number of items were also seized from the addresses including two vehicles.
Police are still investigating the exact motivation for the attack in January, but believe it was a case of mistaken identity.
Detective Acting Inspector Adam Shoesmith said they hoped the arrests and warrants would provide further avenues of enquiry.
“We know there are people out there who can help us identify those responsible,” he said.
“People who may have been present at the time of the incident, or people who may have heard information about these incidents after the fact.
“Whatever that information is – police want to hear it. It could be details about who was involved, how the incident took place or what the motivation for the attack was.
“Any small detail to could the thing that makes an enormous difference.”
