The AFL is set to look into Geelong coach Chris Scott’s new role with Morris Finance.
Scott was last week announced as the chief of leadership and performance at Morris Finance, a sponsor of the club.
The AFL is reportedly looking into the arrangement in regards to the AFL’s soft cap, which limits football department spending, including on coaches.
The AFL has always monitored third party deals, and there is no suggestion of wrongdoing.
Scott last week responded to questions on the issue, saying it was essentially the formalisation of a prior agreement.
“It really is just the formalisation of something we’ve been working on for a long time.”
