Ambo response times revealed

Ambulance Victoria has announced that the last quarter of 2024 was their fourth busiest on record.

The Barwon South West Region team responded to over 7,000 critical ‘Code 1’ emergencies between October and December 2024.

The Greater Geelong local government area was the second busiest in the state, accounting for almost 5 percent of the total Code 1 workload.

Queenscliff saw the best improvement in response time across the state, responding on average one minute and 36 seconds faster.

65.6 percent of Code 1 patients were attended to within 15 minutes, up from 54.7 percent the year before.

Other big improvements seen nearby in Corangamite and Colac-Otway.

Statewide, only 64.9 percent of Code 1 cases were responded to within the 15 minute target, Victoria’s average sitting at 15 minutes and 42 seconds.
