The future of Geelong-based brewing company Vahalla is uncertain, becoming the latest craft brewery to enter voluntary administration.
Lotus Beer Collective which trades locally under the Valhalla name appointed administrators on Monday.
The local company has a brewery and taproom in the Federal Mills in North Geelong which only opened last year, along with a venue in the Geelong CBD on Union Street.
Owners say a drop off in visitors to their two locations is the main reason they’ve decided to appoint administrators.
It comes following Torquay-based Sou’West Brewery closed its doors in May, adding to dozens of craft breweries across the country succumbing the impacts of cost-of-living pressures and excise tax debts.
Last month Great Ocean Road Brewing took over the former Sou’West site in the heart of Torquay’s surf retail precinct at Baines Crescent.
