A Wyndham man has been arrested and illicit tobacco seized during a series of police raids.
Members of the VIPER Taskforce searched a home in Hoppers Crossing and storage facilities in Melbourne and Gippsland on Tuesday.
Officers also search a tobacco store in Korumburra as part of the investigation into organised crime syndicates linked to illicit tobacco.
More than 520,000 cigarettes were seized along with over 1600 e-cigarettes and 25kg of loose leaf tobacco.
A 48-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing is accused of being the supplier.
He has been charged with a federal offence of possessing or conveying tobacco with the intent to defraud.
The man has been bailed to face the Werribee Magistrates’ Court in July next year.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
