Detectives investigating the death of Geelong dad Paul Grapsas are looking into whether he may have been killed after interrupting a car break-in.
The 40-year-old’s body was found near his car, not far from his apartment home on Malone Street early on Friday morning.
His wife Jessica, who is expecting the couple’s third child, made the grim discovery after waking to find her husband had not returned from walking the dog the previous night.
Police are now scouring CCTV from local businesses and residences in a painstaking search for clues about how – and why – he died.
It’s understood Mr Grapsas had suffered severe head injuries but it’s not clear how they were inflicted.
Homicide detectives are giving little information about their investigation except to say that the death is being treated as suspicious.
Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
