Two women will face court on a series of charges related to driving incidents in Bell park.

Police had called on the driver of a silver Lancer to stop for a routine license check, only for the driver to fail to stop and speed away.

Police made the decision not to pursue the vehicle, but later attended the address it was registered to.

Police attended a Bell Park home and gave notice to surrender the car, returning 11 days later to impounded the car after it was not surrendered.

The two women – a 38-year-old woman from Bell Park and a 29-year-old woman from Whittington – will face court on a series of charges including failing to stop for police, driving at a speed dangerous, unlicenced driving and failing to surrender a motor vehicle.

Acting Sergeant Paul Barker said the charges made a statement.

“It sends a clear message to those who fail to follow a police direction and engage in dangerous driving, that even if you aren’t caught at the time police will use every avenue of enquiry available to them to identify and apprehend those responsible,” he said.

“I’m sure after 30 days in the impound lot, there will be a new layer of dust to polish off should the vehicle be collected.”
