Crews called to conveyor belt blaze

A conveyor belt used for crushing concrete has caught fire at a plant in Fyansford.

Fire crews were called to a business on the Hamilton Highway just before 2.30 am, finding the conveyor fully alight.

The incident was declared under control within an hour, and safe just after 4am.

Eleven crews on scene at one stage,.

Meantime, a house has been extensively damaged in Werribee.

It happened on Sinns Avenue around 2.45am, with crews finding the property fully involved in fire.

The flames were under control in just over 30 minutes.
