A local popular dog park will be closed this week.
The Belmont facility on Barrabool Road will undergo resurfacing works and maintenance.
The City of Greater Geelong says after community input, the grassed area of the park will be replaced with granitic gravel.

More trees will be put in to provide shade to the future gravel area.
The city says the park attracts a lot of visitors, so the closure will allow it to maintain the space without having to close large areas for a long time.
The Belmont dog park will be closed until Friday.
