Five new schools have opened across Wyndham for students in Term one.
Two primary schools and three high schools are in Truganina, Tarneit and Werribee are catering to the regions rapidly growing population.
Bemin Secondary College in Truganina has opened to Year 7 students at its junior campus on Everton Road, beside the newly developed Warreen Primary School and kindergarten.
The senior school is expected to house 1400 students at its peak.
Year 10’s are located at the schools senior campus on Morris Road, with additional years to be introduced annually.
Tarneit’s Brinbeal Secondary College has opened to Year 7 students and will progress by year level thereafter, eventually managing 1300 students, including 100 places for students with a disability.
The Wimba Primary School nearby has also opened for Prep to Grade 6, 650 students are earmarked to learn there.
Nganboo Borron School on Frome Court in Werribee caters to a capacity of 148 students with mild to profound intellectual disability, and is co-located with Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College that’s initially opened to Year 7 students, but will eventually take 550 pupils.
The new schools are among 14 new educational centres on that have been opened in time for the start of 2024 in Melbourne’s fast growing fringe suburbs.
