Australian Red Cross Lifeblood has implored locals across Geelong and the Surf Coast to consider rolling up their sleeves and donating blood this festive season.
Lifeblood Executive Director of Donor Experience, Cath Stone said that while many of us sit back and relax these holidays, there was always a demand for blood.
“People of all ages will rely on blood and blood products in the coming weeks including those with immune conditions and cancer, trauma patients, and women having babies,” Ms Stone said.
These issues do not take a Christmas and New Year holiday, but still this period is historically quieter for Lifeblood.
“Make the season your reason. We urge you to direct your festive spirit into helping others by showing up and filling a donation chair.”
