Flooding closes sections of local library

Sections of the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre will be closed to the public on Thursday, due to significant flooding.

Geelong Regional Libraries has not said what caused the flooding, but has taken to social media saying the ground floor of the library will be open until further notice.

“We hope that other levels will open from Monday 6 January and will update our website and social media when we know more,” the post said.

“The heritage centre will remain closed until further notice whilst the carpet is replaced.

“There is no damage to our heritage collections and records. “

The library says there is also no impact to its holiday programs at this stage.
