Geelong great Mick Turner will be farewelled at a memorial service in Lorne today following his recognition as an AFL life member yesterday.
Turner passed away aged 70 last month and was well known for spending over two decades as talent manager at the Geelong Falcons.
The former Cats skipper was named in the club’s team of the century after 245 games in the hoops.
Turner was also heavily involved in K rock Football.
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2023, passing away in December.
The AFL were able to inform Turner of his life membership before his passing.
Cats star and former Falcon Gryan Miers says Mick is a huge loss.
“He was such a fantastic person,” he said.
“I’ll be attending with a number of Falcons boys to make sure we send him off in the right way.”
