Geelong West man arrested after string of alleged thefts

A Geelong West man has been arrested and charged over a string of thefts across the region.

The 45-year-old has been hit with 16 charges over the incidents across the last three months, which allegedly included thefts, assaults, and deceptions in the Geelong area.

Police allege the man stole from a number of cars, and used stolen credit cards to make purchases between August and October.

Investigators also believe the man stole a car in Geelong West.

Geelong police arrested he man on Friday morning following an extensive investigation led by Acting Sergeant Darren Evans.

“We are closely tracking offenders to ensure Geelong remains a safe place for everyone, and this arrest is just another example of that,” Geelong Senior Sergeant Aaron Riches said.

“Our teams work tirelessly to identify, investigate and arrest offenders, putting them before the court to answer for their actions.”
