Geelong and the Bellarine recorded an increase in visitor spending in the last financial year.
Figures by Tourism Research Australia show an increase of 74 per cent compared to 2019 in the local region.
The Victorian government says the figures have been driven by a strong demand in the domestic tourism market, but also the return of international travel.
Tourism Minister Steve Dimopoulos said Victoria is ensuring it remains a major events and cultural capital.
“Victorian tourism continues to go from strength to strength and these latest record-breaking results reflect our incredible and diverse offering for domestic and international visitors alike,” he said.
“We’re investing in the future of Victoria’s tourism industry and have big plans to continue to increase visitation, support local jobs and grow the State’s economy.”
