Dredging is set to take place at the Clifton Springs Boat Harbour in response to recent storms.

Geelong Council says the recent storms have resulted in seagrass wrack at the entrance to the harbour, with dredging to start this week to clear it.

“Vessel operators are advised to take extra caution in traversing the entrance and to have engines raised,” council said on their website.

“Vessels with a deeper draft should plan to cross only at high tide levels.”

Deeper draft vessels are encouraged to only cross at high tide.

Council says the dredging process will start on September 12 or 13, and will continue through until the passage has been cleared.
