A woman jailed over the fatal stabbing of a housemate in Norlane will be able to leave prison for the IVF treatment.
Alicia Schiller was sentenced to at least 16-years jail, after being found guilty of the 2014 murder of her female housemate over money.
However, she has been approved by authorities to receive the self-funded teratment while at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.
Schiller, who is now aged in her 30s, would be escorted to external health appointements, according to a report in the Herald Sun.
It is understood she would raise the child until the child is five, before they are placed in the care of Schiller’s mother.
The facility has special units where female inmates can live with their children.
