Police have made a major breakthrough in their hunt for the arsonist who killed an innocent woman in Truganina.

Katie Tangey and a pet golden retriever died in a house fire in January, in what police believe was a case of mistaken address in Melbourne’s underworld tobacco wars.

Detectives have released a face-fit of the man they are looking for.

He is described as being Middle Eastern in appearance, slim-build and aged between 25 and 30..

A ring camera on the Dover Street home also shows the moment the house is engulfed in flames, before two men flee the scene.

Police say one of the men appeared to be carrying a jerry can.

A dark coloured vehicle, similar to a BMW X3 or X5 is seen travelling north on Forsyth Road in Truganina just before the fire broke out.

They are asking anyone who may recognise the man in the facefit to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
