A local palliative care service has been promised funding under a Coalition government.
Liberal candidate for Corangamite Darcy Dunstan has pledged $2.7 million for Anam Cara House.
The money would go towards the final stage of upgrades at the Waurn Ponds end of life facility.
Eight new ensuite bedrooms and two living rooms with outdoor decks among the upgrades.
“Anam Cara House Geelong, an accredited private hospital, provides crucial health care to those suffering end-of-life and life-limiting illnesses. This now includes local veterans. It is vital we secure the future of this essential facility,” Mr Dunstan said.
The project backed by Senator for Victoria Sarah Henderson.
“Anam Cara Geelong is a state-of-the-art facility which is providing exceptional care to those suffering end-of-life and life-limiting illnesses, with dignity and compassion,” Senator Henderson said.
It would bring the total number of bedrooms to 20.
