Detectives and the bomb squad seized a number of items, including suspected explosives.
A 33-year-old was arrested yesterday after police were called bout a white Volkswagen parked outside an office building.
The bomb squad attended the incident on Collins Street after a suspicious device was discovered near the car.

“The matter is not terror related and there is no immediate threat to community safety.
“The Bomb Response Unit has deployed to conduct a safety check on a vehicle in Collins Street.”
The man will be in front of court today facing charges including making or possessing an explosive device and weapons offences.
