Local lobby groups are putting together a list of priorities for the Geelong region ahead of the federal election.
The election is tipped to be called for May.
The Committee for Geelong said it was essential to advocate for the area to politicians on all sides.
CEO Michael Johnston said there were several priorities.
“The priorities are really focussed around what we’ve identified as three key areas, which is around housing, employment – particularly the Avalon employment precinct, and also water security,” he said.
Mr Johnston said it was essential to start getting the message out to MPs and candidates.
“It’s been really important to try and work with other advocacy organisations and local council on what those key priorities are for Geelong that we’d like to see.”
