Locals doing the Melbourne trip are set for delays in coming weeks.
Works getting underway today on final asphalting between Williamstown and Millers roads.
It means a numbers of lanes and exits on the journey will be closed, with delays of up to half an hour possible.

“In mid-February, major works will shift to the citybound lanes of the West Gate Freeway, with similar impacts between Millers Road and Williamstown Road,” a release said.
“More information will be provided prior to these works commencing.
“Real-time traffic conditions are available at traffic.transport.vic.gov.au. The latest public transport information and network status is available at ptv.vic.gov.au or in the PTV mobile app.”
