Two endangered Hooded Plover chicks at Lorne Beach have fledged.
Authorities have taken out the temporary exclusion zone around the nests at the spit end of the beach near Cypress lane.
A fenced off area still remains, so that the threatened birds have the best chance at development.

Beach goers and dog owners are being encouraged to keep their distance from the area, or to walk along the waters edge when passing through.
There are 11 recognised breeding zones for the Hooded Plover between Point Impossible and Marengo.
