Man taken into custody attempting to take firearm onto plane

A man has been taken into custody after attempting to board a plane at Avalon with a firearm.

The man attempted to board the commercial flight before 3 today and was detained.

Police confirmed the man was detained before he entered the plane.

“The man was detained before getting onto the plane and police called,” a statement said.

“Officers attended and took the man into custody.

“Fortunately no one was injured and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.”
