Man hospitalised after Latrobe Tce crash

A man’s been taken to hospital after a crashing into a tree on Latrobe Tce in Geelong early Friday afternoon.

It’s understood crews were called to the incident near the Mercer St merger heading towards Melbourne at around 12.10pm.

It’s understood the man drove into a tree in the middle nature strip of the road at the intersection of Mont Albert Rd.

One man has been taken by road ambulance to University Hospital Geelong, his condition is unclear at this stage.

It’s being reported traffic is being diverted off Latrobe Tce Melbourne bound, with cars told to detour through Geelong West by taking Gordon Ave.

The diversion has also been causing long build-ups and delays along Pakington St, while Latrobe Tce/Melbourne Rd is still open heading south but with delays.
