“75 per cent of the increase in public servants since we’ve been in government are in the region,” he said.

“And for us in Geelong, almost 500 public servants have moved to the area in the past three years.”

Mr Marles says it’s not as simple as cuts saving money.

“It not only impacts peoples jobs, it impacts the services people receive from government in areas like disability.”
