Multiple states in car jacking arrest

A South Australian man has been arrested by Queensland police over thefts in Victoria.

The 32-year-old was arrested following a series of car jackings in Werribee, Little River and Point Cook at the end of May.

“Detectives from Hamilton Crime Investigation Unit and Armed Crime Squad worked closely with officers from South Australian and Queensland police to locate the man as he made his way from Victoria into South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland,” police said in a statement.

“The 32-year-old was arrested at a hotel in South Brisbane (Thursday) morning.”

Victorian police will fly to Queensland in coming days to apply for extradition.
