A free virtual women’s clinic is set to open in the next few months, helping women in the Geelong region access healthcare.
The clinic is aimed at making it easier for women to access services such as endometriosis and pelvic pain care, menstrual health, cervical screening, menopause care, breast health care and abortion.
It’s set to launch before the middle of the year in partnership with community health organisation EACH, offering care through telehealth or online.
Member for Geelong Christine Couzens said it’s hoped the clinic will make healthcare more accessible for regional women.
“We are transforming the way women’s health is treated in Victoria – this new virtual clinic will make a huge difference for women in Geelong, providing them with free, and easily accessible healthcare no matter their background or location.”
It will be led by specialist nurses, offering initial health assessments and some treatment in an effort to make healthcare accessible for women across the state, particularly those in rural areas.
