A new housing estate in Ocean Grove will get its own health and wellbeing hub, after a 3000 square metres of land was gifted by the developer.

The family-owned Kingston Ocean Grove will provide land in Goodwell Drive for the Bellarine Community Health facility.

The hub will provide people living in the area with easy access to an ‘integrated, holistic model of heatlh care close to where they live’ according to the company.

Bellarine Community Health (BCH) has already received $4m in federal funding to develop the first stage.

Kingston Ocean Grove Managing Director Jason Corless said the the donation of land would help realise the vision of his father, Ed Corless.

“The Corless family, along with Ed’s wife, Win, are proud to be able to honour his vision,” he said.

“We are pleased to give back to the community where we have planted our roots. It brings us great joy to donate this land on behalf of Kingston Ocean Grove to Bellarine Community Health.

“By investing in the well-being of our community, we can create a more connected, caring, and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.”

BCH CEO Garry Ellis said the donated land was integral to offering further health and wellbeing support for the local community.

“Ocean Grove is a growth corridor with a high proportion of young families moving into the area so the hub will have a focus on child and youth services,” said Mr Ellis.

“We have already established a headspace service in Ocean Grove so this hub will enhance the services we can provide for young people in our community.”

Site works are due to commence before Christmas, and BCH said it was now seeking additional funding to complete Stage Two.
