Improved telecommunications infrastructure has been announced for Torquay.
Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said new service towers would allow for better coverage across the Surf Coast, including more remote parts of the region.
She said it was particularly vital in the lead up to the bushfire season.

“Even a couple of minutes can be the difference between life and death,” she said.
“We want to make sure we’ve got the proper systems in place and the best available connectivity and resilience to be able to keep those services on as long as possible.”
