Stab victim remembered as ‘friendly giant’

Investigations are continuing into the fatal stabbing of a young man in Geelong’s CBD.

Police believe Jayme Sykes was involved in a fight with another group near Little Malop Street early Sunday morning.

The 20-year-old Corio man was taken to hospital but passed away.

He is being remembered by family and friends as a friendly giant with a big heart.

Tributes have been written on social media, with some saying Jayme was there for them through thick and thin.

Two other men police believe may have been involved in the fight took themselves to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have spoken to the men but are not saying whether they are suspects or if detectives are searching for anyone else.

No arrests or charges have been laid at this stage.
