Seven Wyndham teenagers have been arrested after a stolen car was caught speeding overnight.
Police first noticed the allegedly stolen white Mazda 6 driving erratically and speeding in Tarneit around 9.30pm Thursday.
Officers say the car, allegedly stolen from Truganina earlier this month, sped through a red light, and was detected reaching speeds of more than 150km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Police allege the Mazda was also involved in a near miss with a pedestrian around Thames Boulevard, before the vehicle was dumped in Manor Lakes.
The occupants ran off but were arrested shortly after.
Six teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been charged with offences including car theft.
They have been bailed to face a Children’s court at a later date.
A 16-year-old boy from Truganina was issued with a caution.
