A hotel in Jan Juc is taking part in a pilot outdoor dining program.
Surf Coast councillors have endorsed a Parklet Pilot Program, which will see four parking spots outside the Beach Hotel turned into a street hospitality space.
The outdoor dining will be available between December 1 and March 31 next year, depending on the hotel entering a licence agreement and having the revelant planning requirements.
Outdoor dining popped up across the Shire during the COVID pandemic to deal with density limits.
A petition was presented to the council with more than 1,400 signatures from people wanting a return to outdoor dining at the Beach Hotel.
Council will be after community input on the pilot over summer, to determine if it considers other outdoor dining spaces across the shire.
