Charges have been laid over an aggravated burglary in Wyndham that led to a cross-city chase.
Four teenagers were arrested after allegedly stealing an Audi from Sanctuary Lakes early yesterday (Monday).
Two 15-year-old boys have since been charged while a 12-year-old and 14-year-old have been cautioned.
Police say keys to the car were stolen from inside the Sanctuary Lakes home, and the later used helicopter to follow it and another allegedly stolen vehicle – a Kia – along the Princes Highway.
Police say they successfully deployed tyre deflation devices on both vehicles near Duncans Road, but the two Kia occupants managed to get into the Audi which made it to Bourke Road in Melbourne’s east before it was dumped and the four boys arrested.
The two 15-year-olds are due before the children’s court on charges including aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle and a range of related offences.
