Wannon MP Dan Tehan has back the oppositions call to cut funding from the suburban rail loop and Sunshine station.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton announcing if elected, the Coalition would re-direct more than four billion dollars of funding from across the two projects.
Mr Tehan says it will be a big saving, but also help to fund the airport rail link.
“That’s $4.2 billion saved,” he said in a video on social media.
“Some of that is going to the airport rail link, which means if you’re travelling to the airport, you’ll be able to go all the way by rail once its built.”
He added there would be more news for locals soon.
“There is still plenty of money saved,” he said.
“And we’ll be making plenty of announcements on roads for all Victorians in coming days.”
