Geelong and the Surf Coast is under total fire ban conditions today.
While the mercury is set to fall to 29 from yesterdays peak in the high 30s, extreme fire danger across the central region has resulted in the CFA putting the ban in place.
No fires can be lit until midnight.
Its the continuation of a hot weekend across the region, which included the Pako Festa being cancelled yesterday due to the heat.
“Due to the heat and it’s impact on our audiences, stage performers and stall holders, we regretfully need to announce that Pako Festa 2025 is closing early,” a social media post read.
“However we must say, the massive response from the public out there on Pakington Street today has been incredible.
“Keep following for more on what has been a huge festa already.”
Temperatures are set to return to the 30s on Wednesday.
