Geelong and the Surf Coast are expected to be hit with an influx of tourists over the long weekend.
Tracy Carter from Tourism Greater Geelong and the Bellarine said the warm weather over the weekend is the perfect opportunity for locals to make the most of what the region has to offer.
“There’s nothing like a long weekend to get people moving,” she said.
“Having that long weekend right before school goes back, people do see that as an opportunity to just get away for one last summer weekend on the coast.”
Saturday is looking to be a top of 26, while Sunday’s set to be 25 degrees.
Things will heat up over the public holiday on Monday, with Geelong heading for a top of 39 degrees.
Tracy said this is a great opportunity to support local businesses.
“Go out, enjoy lunches, all of those sorts of things. There’s a lot to do away from the beach as well, so we encourage people to check our website www.visitgeelongbellarine.com.au.”
