A volunteer firefighter has had his ute stolen while out on call responding to fires around Rokewood on Monday.
The brigade shared a post to its Facebook page on Monday night, with the member claiming his Toyota ute was taken from the Werneth Fire Station at the corner of Cahills and Pitfield-Cressy Rd sometime between 3.30pm and 7pm.
According to the owner the ute was seen heading towards Ballarat, with reports it was still seen sitting at the shed around 5pm.
The ute had tool boxes, an air compressor and Engel fridge sitting in the back at the time.
It came on a day where brigades from all across the region responded to extreme fire danger, with over a dozen crews called to the blaze near Rokewood.
The fire broke out in Corindhap a bit after 3.30pm, with a watch and act message issued at one stage for Shelford and Warrumbine.
