A man has been arrested after being clocked speeding in Werribee.
Police say the driver reached speeds of up to 200km/h on the Princes Freeway in a stolen Kia sedan on Sunday night.
The police helicopter was brought in to help monitor the driver, before the man hit a tree on the corner of Daglish Way and Attadale Avenue.
The driver ran off before he was arrested a short time later in a property.
A 19-year-old from Werribee has been remanded to face court on December 9 on charges including car theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
A second man was also arrested at the property and charged on unrelated matters.
