Geelong would make a strong comeback, pulling the margin to within four during the final quarter, but where unable to hold the momentum, with the loss taking their record to 4-5 on the year.
Haley Jones was the leading scorer of the night for the women in blue, scoring 16 points, while Jaz Shelley put up her performance of the season with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists off the bench.
Keeley Froling continued her team MVP form with 10 points and 10 boards.
United now get a weeks break before heading to Perth to play the Lynx on December 23.
