The surviving members of Nirvana hit the Saturday Night Live stage for the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert and you can imagine that the internet is naturally divided!

On Saturday (15 February), Post Malone (known for his love of Nirvana covers) joined Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and touring guitarist Pat Smear at Radio City Music Hall in New Your City to perform the 90s grunge rock anthem “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from Nevermind.

As fans know, this iconic track was written by Kurt Cobain, Novoselic, and Grohl, with the original band making history before Cobain’s tragic passing in 1994.

The live audience couldn’t get enough—cheers filled the hall—but viewers at home? Well, they had mixed reactions. Some fans gushed, “This literally brought tears to my eyes,” while others weren’t feeling the vibe, commenting, “Objectively bad” and questioning how Cobain himself would have felt about it.

One fan sparked an interesting idea, suggesting, “Nirvana and Friends” and just get artists to cover different songs. No one will ever replace Kurt, but i think the fans would enjoy a world tour to see 75% or the original band.”
